Frequently Asked Questions.
Common questions about visiting, donating, and the sanctuary itself.
What types of animals do you care for?
Our facilities are equipped to provide care for a variety of small farm animals. We currently accommodate sheep, goats, pigs, small cows, alpacas, and falabella (miniature horse) species. These are the animals we’re able to accept and care for based on our current infrastructure and resources.
What’s the difference between an animal rescue and an animal sanctuary?
An animal sanctuary is typically a farm dedicated to providing a permanent, loving home for rescued animals for the remainder of their lives. Unlike animal shelters, sanctuaries don’t aim to rehome animals with individuals or groups. Instead, they offer a safe, caring environment where animals can live out their natural lives, providing a long-term solution for their care and protection.
What is Little Mountain Animal Sanctuary’s mission?
Our mission is to provide a secure refuge for rescued small farm animals, ensuring they live out their lives in health, happiness, and safety. We also strive to educate, advocate, and foster a community environment that respects, celebrates, and nurtures the bond between animals and humans.
How can I donate to the sanctuary?
To make a donation, please visit our How to Help page or go directly to our Funraise donation page. We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, Venmo, and checks. As a 501(c)(3), every donation is tax-deductible.
Do I need an appointment to visit?
Yes, visits are by appointment only, but we offer same-day scheduling whenever we can fit you in. Use our Request a Visit form or call us at (440) 368-1000.
Is there an entry fee?
No, we operate on a donation-only basis. There are no tickets and no fees. Donations are welcomed and appreciated; every gift directly supports our animals.
Are there age restrictions for visiting?
No strict age restrictions. We ask that children under 12 be supervised by an adult at all times. We offer age-appropriate activities for all visitors.
Can I bring my own animals (dogs, etc.) to visit?
For the safety of our resident animals, we ask that visitors leave their own pets at home. Thank you for understanding.
